Hmm so this past week I forgot to blog i think so I think this may have to be extra long to count as two.
Anyway, recently I have begun to analyze the artistic side of movies more. Not just the style but also the transitions and other such things that help to contribute to art in motion. It is pretty fantastic what professionals do with angles and these transitions to create one fluid piece of work.
On another note, ASTRO BOY IS BEING MADE INTO A 3D MOVIE! Words cannot express the jubilation I feel. As one of the first anime cartoons created it has been an inspiration to almost all manga, anime, and other animated films. I can't wait to see what the do to this as the trailer already looks fantastic. GO YOUTUBE IT or...

I think this is a great look at how artistic design can interact with film in order to have a stylistic and artsy look. While it is no Waking Life, it is still going to be a pretty amazing movie.
As far as my flash project goes. I am greatly looking forward to being able to work on my idea. It is simple in the story, but what it will basically cover will be my friends and I on a road trip to Lake Monroe where we will be kite flying. From here (without giving away too much plot) the kite will be lost and we will be on a journey to find it.
OOoo intriguing right? Chicka yeah boi.

Flash
Well, I'm thinking for my Flash animation I will create a project based on the adventures of me and my friend's crazy "adventures"
This will of course be either a road trip or kite flying in the park.

Tomorrow is THE BIG DAY
So this project is due tomorrow, the webart project I mean. That's not so bad, I'm almost finished but still. Looking forward to seeing how everyone's turns out, I've really had no experience working with code, dreamweaver or any other type of web software stuff so this is kind of an experience I guess.
Woot SPRING BREAK! No woot to the end of it. :(

Progress
I'm starting to understand more and more the idea behind net.art. Just from what I am working on now it seems like it is an alright project and it is definitely informative. My theme is sort of "everybody eats" and right now it is very loose and unorganized so I'm thinking of redoing a few pages and cleaning up the act.
Once I get a bit further I'll post a link. Happy editing and creating in the meantime!

net.art
I'm still very confused about the idea of net.art. I think it is a novel idea, but at the same time it has not been executed in a very great way. The few examples I did see of web art were very random and not very well proposed.
What I'm really confused about in particular is what tools we can use for this project. Is it video, photoshop drawings, sound?
With this in particular I think I would like to implement sound by remixing some of my music (so that it voids copyright huzzah) and then maybe dealing with an idea that is cyclical. I have an odd idea on religion and general ideas after life, so I want to play with those.

FREE WEEK!
Huzzahhhh! The end of another week (or technically the beginning since this is Sunday). So, all three of my photoshop projects are now complete which is awesome and all I have to do now is begin the cd writing process.
Update number 1 DONE.
Secondly, I went to this really sweet Zulu art exhibit in the art museum this weekend (it was the opening reception) and holy cow the Zulu people knew how to throw down!!!! At least in the art sense. Statues and other three-dimensional works were among my favorites, ESPECIALLY THE MASKS!!!
Regardless, it was a slow weekend for art besides working on my final copy of my self portrait "Unwrap Yourself and Bloom"(I'll explain the title when I post the picture) and other homework.
Happy Critique to everyone tomorrow!
